Beth is currently the Adult Liver Transplant Dietitian at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. As an integral part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary medical team Beth provides nutrition care at every stage of the transplant process to help patients and their families manage their health and nutrition.
Beth graduated with a Master of Science degree and completed a Dietetic Internship at the University of Kansas and has been a Registered Dietitian since 1982. She is currently active member of the American Academy of Dietetics and Nutrition, The American Society of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition and the American Gastroenterological Society.
Beth started her career working with the Pediatric population with special interest in working with children with developmental disabilities. Her Master’s thesis addressed the Nutrition Assessment of Children with Cerebral Palsy and she worked with the American Dietetic Association on the development of the role of nutrition with these children. Current interests have been focused on the impact of obesity on health. Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease is now a common reason for liver transplantation and can recur in the transplanted graft. This area of interest has led Beth to receive a Level 1 certificate of training in Adult Weight Management and is participating in the Shape Up Houston Program.
In her free time Beth is finding time to travel with her husband now that they are empty-nesters and she enjoys jogging and swimming.
