Nina Crowley, PhD, RDN, LD
Nina Crowley, PhD, RDN, LD is the bariatric surgery program coordinator with her PhD in health psychology who has been working with surgical weight loss patients at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC for the past 10 years. In addition to facilitating behavior change with patients on their weight loss and maintenance journey, Nina’s has presented and authored publications on weight regain after bariatric surgery, health-related quality of life, binge eating behaviors, and food cravings. She is active in her local, state affiliate and is also serving as the SC Public Policy Coordinator and her most recent win was working with the SC Department of Health and Human Services on the Nutrition Counseling Policy for Medicaid Beneficiaries with Obesity. She has served the WMDPG as the Bariatric Surgery Subsection Editor for the Newsletter, and has presented at the WM DPG Symposium on communication and bias in counseling. She is most proud of being awarded the 2015 Excellence in Weight Management Outcomes Research for the Emerging Researcher Award. She's loves to network with other RDs and looks forward to her position as nominating director to get people in leadership positions on the WMDPG.
